BELIEVE GOD!

SCRIPTURE

John 12:44-50 (NRSV)

Believe in the one who sent me

Then Jesus cried aloud: "Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects me and does not receive my word has a judge; on the last day the word that I have spoken will serve as judge, for I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I speak, therefore, I speak just as the Father has told me."

BELIEVE GOD…

God

I have heard it said

That no one can see you and live

But I want to see you

I desire to know you

I want to gaze upon your face

I want to behold the beauty of your holiness

For you are so good

So loving, and

So very kind

You have loved me more

Than anyone else

More than mother

Father

Sister

Brother

Husband

Kids…

How could I not

Want to climb up into your lap

Wrap my arms around your neck

Lay my head upon your shoulder

And snuggle awhile?

Yet, I cannot see you…

I cannot know you.

You are unfathomable

Unknowable

Untouchable

So….

Very, very, far away.

Tears run down my face.

I want to hear your words

See your light

Feel your touch

But I cannot.

Can I?

What’s that you say?

You say I can?

But how?

How can I see you my God,

When you are so very far away?

Behold the Lamb…

Behold the Light…

Behold my Son…

Fully God,

Fully Man,

Fully Love.

Love come down from heaven,

God wrapped up in flesh.

Behold my son…

Light

Love

Life

Eternal…

To Behold me,

Is to Behold my son

Believe ME

And live…
