SCRIPTURE
Micah 4:6-8 (NRSV)
Dominion shall return to Zion
In that day, says the Lord,
I will assemble the lame
and gather those who have been driven away,
and those whom I have afflicted.
The lame I will make the remnant,
and those who were cast off, a strong nation;
and the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion
now and forevermore.
And you, O tower of the flock,
hill of daughter Zion,
to you it shall come,
the former dominion shall come,
the sovereignty of daughter Jerusalem.
DEVOTION
During these final days of Advent, I am struck by the many prophesies we have read regarding that great day when God’s Kingdom will come on earth, as it is in Heaven!
On that great day there will be total harmony upon the earth. Love, joy, peace will be the order of the day.
Justice and mercy will kiss and all those who have been oppressed by people or circumstance will be restored!
Hallelujah!
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for that great getting up mornin’!
Today’s scripture says that on that great day the lame will come. The outcast will come! The afflicted will come! And everyone will be completely, totally, utterly restored!
Glory to God!
On that day even the weakest amongst us will be made strong by the hand of God as we all worship and bow down at Mount Zion forevermore.
I am so glad that God sent LOVE into the world one CHRISTmas morn! I am so joyful that GOD chose to enter into our world—and our human experience—in order to ransom us from sin, death, and the grave! I am so amazed that JESUS loves us so much that he was willing to die on an old rugged cross to forgive us of our sin and gift us with eternal life. And I am so thrilled that Jesus did not stay dead, but was resurrected from the dead on the third day, just as he promised that he would!
God is a promise keeper my friends, and today we have been promised the restoration of all things and all people in the days to come.
Be at peace, dear ones.
Come, Lord Jesus, Come!
Let us pray:
Great God, thank you that you love us so much that you gave Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sin and gift us with eternal life. I believe that Jesus did not stay dead, but was resurrected on the third day. Please forgive me of my sin and fill me with the Holy Spirit. I love you and I want to share your love with others. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
SPECIAL NOTE
If you just prayed that prayer for the first time, today, you are saved! Let me encourage you to tell a Christian friend that you just put all of your hope in Jesus. Ask him or her to help you find a Bible that is easy for you to understand and to find a good Bible believing church where you can be baptized and make new friends who will walk with you on your Christian journey!
I would be honored if you would let me know about your decision today by clicking "YES" in the poll located in the upper-right hand corner of the good news blog in answer to the question, "Did God save you today?"
Congratulations and Happy Re-birthday! Your salvation is our GOOD NEWS, please go and share the GOOD NEWS with others!
